• - a movable declination scale - for determining months,

All months are divided into three ten-day periods, with their names symbolized by letters. Thanks to a tiny movable element, you can easily set the appropriate month and date. After unfolding the equatorial ring perpendicular to the meridian and setting the geographic latitude, the sun’s rays will indicate the correct solar time. Remember that official time may differ from solar time.
